Amazon earnings are out!
Here's the score:
Revenue: $25.59 billion vs. $26.06 billion (Wall Street estimate)
EPS: $0.51 vs. $0.66 (Wall Street estimate)
Profit: $239 million
The stock is down after hours as much as 10.9% after the miss on EPS. However, sales are very impressive, up 20% from the year-ago quarter.
It's an important quarter for Amazon, since this earnings report will reflect sales during the super-important holiday season.
There's also some speculation that Amazon will announce a program to start using Kindle Fire tablets as payment kiosks thanks to a partnership with Jack Dorsey's company Square. The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that the program was in the works.
The earnings call begins at 5 p.m. Eastern and we'll have more for you shortly.
