ROVI ACQUIRES VEVEO: Rovi, a discovery platform for entertainment, has just announced the acquisition of video discovery platform Veveo. Specifically, Veveo is a voice search engine that should help Rovi develop a voice component to its video search capabilities. (TechCrunch)

AEREO ARRIVES IN AUSTIN: Aereo, the startup TV service that allows users to access and watch live over-the-air TV channels on their computers and smartphones, is expanding coverage rapidly in new markets. Most recently, Aereo has announced that it will soon be available in Austin, Texas. But that forward momentum could be put to a quick stop very soon. Aereo is locked in a court battle that will be heard by the Supreme Court in April. Broadcast networks say that Aereo's service violates copyright law.
