Patrick Farves, 18, will be serving an in-school suspension this week, and it's all because he wanted to take the reigning Miss America to his senior prom.
USA Today reports the Central High School student "received three days of in-school suspension Thursday because he asked Nina Davuluri to prom."
Davuluri was participating in a question and answer session in an auditorium filled with students when Farves got up from his seat, and approached his dream girl on stage.
He handed her a plastic flower and asked her to prom.
"Davuluri just laughed and the students cheered," USA Today writes.
Farves had been planning to pop the question all week, and the excited chatter made its way to school officials. They had warned him he would face consequences if he disrupted the school event.
Farves has since apologized for the commotion he caused.
